Suburb Profiles

MUNSTER

As the next most Southern suburb below Coogee, Munster was named after the lake (now known as Lake Coogee) originally known as Lake Munster. The suburb name was officially adopted in 1954. Munster still maintains some rural zoning areas as well as a portion of higher density residential areas. Woodman Point, considered close if not part of Munster offers some of the best fishing in the local area and Munster is also home to popular sporting and recreation areas.
