Even if you have never sailed before, Funcats friendly and experienced staff will have you out on the water in no time. For the more experienced sailor you may enjoy the perfect racing arena that is found on the Swan.
Funcats are conveniently located at Coode St Jetty in South Perth and enjoy amazing views of Perth City. Barbeques are available on shore and are the perfect way to round off your day sailing. Whilst you are out on the water be sure to keep your eye out for a visit from the friendly dolphins that are often found swimming in the Swan River.
Funcats have 54 Windrush 14’ Catamarans for hire, all maintained and safety assured. All tuition and lifejackets are included in the cost of the hire and a rescue craft is on constant standby to assist anyone who needs it. ACTON Real Estate are offering two marquees for use in the Perth Metro and Mandurah areas and one marquee in the South-West. The marquees are 6m x 4.5m in size and can be used free of charge by any community and sporting group, school, and charity.
They are ideal for school fetes, little athletic carnivals, school sports days, local swap meets or even an ACTON auction. The marquees are reasonably easy to install, however, they will require a box trailer to transport them or alternatively you may want to use the ACTON Courtesy Truck.
Please contact your local ACTON branch to arrange a booking.
Thanks to support from the ACTON Real Estate Group, the yacht Twist & Shout is ready for another race season.
"We wanted to fit a bowsprit and increase the sail inventory to give larger spinnakers, which would make the yacht more competitive. This was going to be a costly undertaking so we approached ACTON for sponsorship. To our delight they said yes and we have refitted the boat and are ready to tackle the season at our best," said crew member Sharon Morris. "We've already found the boat to be faster and easier to sail, which has been fantastic. Our first race with the new configuration saw us win the Patrons Cup on the opening day of the season. The refit also means the team, can make do with a smaller core crew of experienced sailors. This allows them to rotate crew members and take on rookie sailors, letting them enjoy the racing experience as well.
"Our skipper Doug Lawler is an excellent trainer, in fact he trained myself and a number of other staff from ACTON South West earlier this year," said Ms Morris. "This season up to 12 ACTON staff and their partners plan to take part, including our Director Brian Moulton. Doug is very willing to take on less experienced people, give them some training and encourage them to participate. Because we can operate with a smaller core crew there is plenty of room for other people to come on board and have a go. High on the list of events for this season will be the 54th Cockburn Sound Regatta in late December, as well as the 2012 Geographe Bay Race Week. It is hoped that a few of the new rookies will develop the skills required to participate at these top level regattas.
"This wouldn't have been possible without the support of the ACTON Group."
