Moving from his beautiful but cold homeland of Canada to Western Australia over seven years ago was one of the wisest decisions Jason Dragstra of ACTON South West Busselton has ever made.

‘Growing up in Canada I was a keen sportsman playing ice hockey and snowboarding whenever I had the chance,’ Jason said. ‘I am still a keen sportsman but now I live on the beach and swimming and surfing have taken over.’

The move to WA and into the real estate industry all happened smoothly.

‘It was as though it was preordained. My wife is from Western Australia and I moved to Busselton for her work but it wasn’t long before a friend asked me to join his real estate agency. Everything just fell into place and now I live and work in the fantastic South West.’

Jason’s sales career began in Canada were he sold farm machinery across the country.

‘I received very sound sales training working in Canada where I learnt the importance of listening to my clients’ needs, something which carries over to any sales field. An added bonus is that working in Busselton I am still dealing with people in a country setting which is where I love to be.’

However, Jason knows it is not all about relaxing into the country lifestyle.

‘Real estate has an element of excitement about it which I really love. You never know what a new day or even the next phone call might bring. Meeting new people and helping them to find the property which is just right for them gives me a real buzz.’

‘With the opening of the new Forrest Highway, travel time to Perth for those who want to visit the big smoke has come down considerably.’
