| Originally from New Zealand, Lynda Broughton from ACTON South West Busselton spent a number of years travelling the world but of all the wonderful places she visited none seemed to match Western Australia and the South West in particular. “Busselton is just a fantastically complete place to live,” Lynda said. “Since my first visit to Western Australia in 1974 I just kept coming back so in the end I gave in and moved here permanently.” With a lifelong interest in real estate and a family connection to the building trade, Lynda decided to enter the real estate industry when she settled in Busselton. “Although I am a local now I still remember when I was a new comer to town wondering if this was really the place for me, the place where I wanted to invest my money and settle down. This experience gives me a good understanding of what people are going through when they are looking at real estate in Busselton especially as we have a lot of new people moving into the town.” With this in mind, Lynda takes the time to sell the town which gives her an opportunity to establish what people’s needs are so she can accurately match them to suitable properties. Before joining real estate, Lynda worked in the travel industry both working in large organisations as well as running her own business. “There are definite parallels between the two industries,” she said. “People want or even need to go on holidays for all sorts of reasons just as there are many reasons why people are looking to buy and sell property. To successfully negotiate a transaction to everyone’s satisfaction it is necessary to discover what their motivations are.” Lynda knows from experience this can only be achieved by listening to her clients and paying attention to every last detail. Lynda is married with two grown sons living in Perth and when not working she enjoys spending her time water skiing, camping and following rugby union. “Real estate is one of those professions where you need to be accessible to your clients who may want to speak with you at all hours,” she said. “With my family grown I have the time and ability to work flexible hours which is a necessary part of providing real estate service.” When choosing a real estate agent it is a good idea to choose someone who has a genuine passion for what they do and a love for where they live. Such an agent is Lynda Broughton of ACTON South West Busselton.
