UNIQUE SELLING PHILOSOPHY
After five years working in real estate in the Fremantle area, Glenn O'Connor-Smith of ACTON Fremantle is well known for the range of services he offers and his positive, somewhat unique selling philosophy.
"Buying and selling real estate means different things to different people," Glenn believes. " For some it is moving home as the family dynamics change and for others it may be increasing personal wealth and security but whatever it is for each individual it is about making dreams come true and it is great being apart of that."
Glenn sees real estate as a proven vechicle, accessible to most people who are looking for the security that comes from being well housed with a comfortable level of financial security.
Born and bred in WA, Glenn began his working life with Mills and Wares in Fremantle. Starting on the shop floor, he quickly moved through the ranks to be appointed as WA Sales Mangager. He spent two years working for the company in Sydney but he soon realised nothing can beat WA so he came home.
" I enjoyed my time at Mills and Wares and I certianly learnt the intricacies of sales and negotiation but I realised it was all cold business deals. In real estate you deal directly with people and with something that really means a lot to them, their home."
One area Glenn specialises in is property development, an interesting field in Fremantle's diverse property market.
"During my career I have successfully tendered for contracts through Landcorp to negotiate the sale of land and houses for the City of Fremantle and Main Roads consulting with the WA Planning authority."
Glenn put this experience to good use and actively researches sites for developers, manages joint ventures between land holders and developers and markets the completed developments.
"I love this kind of work as it involves careful record keeping which has always been a habit of mine but, I receive just as much enjoyment working with individual owners to market their properties."
With methodical keeping of records, Glenn has built an accurate database of clients, which is one of the secrets to his successful marketing.
Recently married he loves sailing and playing rugby.
" My Dad and I own a boat together and we sail in Wednesday competitions. I am also an avid Western Force member and play Rugby Union for Curtain."
