ACTON

It all started with two Johns and one office, now there is still a John leading the way but with 12 offices and over 200 active professional employees!

This year The Acton Group and their team are proudly celebrating 40 years in business.

CEO John Coleman and the Board of ACTON have overseen the group’s expansion from the original offices in Dalkeith and Cottesloe/Peppermint Grove to Applecross, South Perth, Mount Lawley, Subiaco, City Beach, Fremantle, Mandurah, Dunsborough, Busselton and Margaret River.

The Board of Acton are using this anniversary to map out their long term vision for the group and where they want to be in the coming 2, 5 and 10 years.

"Acton is very much about identifying and nurturing talent," John Coleman said. "We have so much amazing talent and it’s no accident, as we actively seek out only the best available. Acton prides itself on the professionalism of it’s team through a vision of quality and longevity.

According to John Coleman, a major factor in the group’s success is that it is still privately owned. "We’ve never been tempted to franchise or to publicly list the company or such , despite many approaches from a variety of wise men over the years," he said.

"Acton has always owned Acton, which means we have firm quality control. If someone gets off track, you can pull them back into line and we have tended to take the "John West" approach to staff over the years and never avoided making the hard moral or ethical decisions, necessary from time to time, to ensure our brand stays at the elite level.

Curiously our long term staff insist on this approach to ensure they are always working alongside only honest ethical professionals.

"Wherever we have opened an office we have stayed and grown substantially, and usually cemented our long term intentions by buying a building in each area to compliment our business."

He said strong competition had also helped the Group grow even faster!

"Everywhere we are, there are other strong operators. We love the competition – life would be terrible without it," Mr Coleman said.
